"The General Manager"
Ramon Montez Sr.My First Time
“My Dad would repair his own car. He always smiled when it ran properly. I loved helping him wash his cars.”
It was at the age of 6 or 7, the first time cars peaked Ramon’s interest. “My Dad would repair his own car. He always smiled when it ran properly. I loved helping him wash his cars.” By the time Ramon was 7 he could identify most American cars. Today Ramon can identify cars by sight, most motors by sound, and great customers by conversation.
Commitment to US Veterans
RAMON MONTEZ SERVED IN THE US AIR FORCE for nearly 4 years. Initially attracted by the opportunity to travel, train and continue to compete in sports, the US Air Force reinforced principals of duty, loyalty and team in Ramon, principals he first learned from his family. After serving in the military with distinction, Ramon relocated to Las Vegas where he raised his family, including two sons who are now adults.
Carl’s Place, Customers, & Coupes
“Porsche Owners Stand Out”
After years working in trade shows and other European car shops, Ramon wanted to specialize, to become a master and part of a masterful team. “Porsche owners stand out” he says. It’s as much an attitude and a lifestyle as it is about the car getting them from one place to another. Walk in to Carl’s Place on any day and you will find Ramon there, smile for every customer and a warm welcome ready and waiting. Parked out front you can see Ramon’s 968 Coupe. Eventually he will own a 1982 911 Targa SC, if he can find the right one. “I conduct pre-purchase inspections for people looking at buying a Porsche. I am definitely going to inspect every car I might buy for myself.” Championship teams have an emotional leader, the heart of the team. For the 900 Series, the heart of the team is Ramon Montez.
